Thanks for visiting my work-in-progress that I call my portfolio. As a photographer and graphic designer, I am the first to admit that I am obsessed with dogs. They are a huge part of my art. The content of this site is constantly evolving as I edit and create new work. My love for photography started before I owned my first camera, a Kodak 110. I clearly remember my father bringing home rolls of developed film as a kid. Sometimes the images were from months prior or the most recent celebration. It felt like unwrapping gifts on Christmas morning. My DSLR has spoiled me, the images are instant! Though sometimes, I must admit, it is weeks before I edit a batch from a trip or an impromptu adventure. And just like when I was a kid, it's fun to see moments that were thought to be forgotten. This image was taken when I was seven. It's hard to know if I would remember that afternoon without the photographs taken almost 3 decades ago.
Many of my childhood memories, if not related to photos, are associated with my dogs. They were old by the time I could fully appreciate them but I remember their presence, patience, and affection for us. Like a fool, I thought they would always be around. Some 30 years later I still miss them.
Today, I am the proud mama to a sassy rescue gal. She is my heart and my soul mutt. Much of my work centers around dogs, from photographing them running freely on the beach (pure heaven!) to photographing (see left) and designing for a Rescue. My love for these furry creatures is tightly woven through every fiber of me. Everything about them lights up my soul, lifts my heart, and breathes energy into me.
